An airplane can typically stay in the air at very high weights, but it will have a hard time getting off the ground initially. Here, the steps differ slightly between the master machine (the computer which is hooked up to all your flight controls) and the other computers. Unlike in a conventional landing, there should be no flare before touching down on the carrier. An exception to the above rule is altitude. Finally, if you have done all of the above steps and still have problems, then the hardware itself is malfunctioning. Networking many computers together will be more flexible, but it will also be much more expensive. If your frame rate is low, or the simulator seems to stutter or move in slow motion, most likely your rendering settings are set too high for your system.
